Adult Pilot Program
(May 19, 2023)
THE ADULT PILOT PROGRAM IS EXPANDING!
The IEA is excited to offer some new opportunities in the Adult Pilot Program for 2023-2024!
The Marshall & Sterling Insurance/USHJA NationalChampionships has added 2’ Adult classes to the Affiliate portion of the Las Vegas National, November 13-19. The IEA will be allowed to send 1-3 adult rider members based on their cumulative points from class AH2 at the 2’ height from this season. Riders will be selected based on interest, horse availability, and points through June 30, 2023. (USHJA will allow at least ONE adult rider from IEA, and up to as many as THREE-pending available space and response from other affiliates.) More information on how you can apply for one of these spots will be coming in late July. For more details about the affiliate championships themselves, check the USHJA website or the link above.
Ready to take it to the next level? In the 2023-2024 season, we will invite the top SIX Adult riders in the country in each class to each discipline’s respective national finals! Keep an eye out for the updated Adult rule addendum (coming soon to the IEA website) for more information on how to qualify.
Just a reminder that the 2022-2023 season is still open until the end of June and it’s not too late to host pointed shows for adults! For membership and rules questions please contact Jennifer Eaton jenn@rideiea.org. For shows, points, and general information about the adult IEA program please contact Emily David emily@rideiea.org
For the first time, IEA is rolling out an Adult Pilot Program for amateur riders ages 21 and older to participate in the IEA format during the 2022-2023 season. All adult riders must become a member of the IEA and be associated with an IEA coach. Adult rider members will participate as individual participants only and will not participate as part of a team. The Adult Pilot program includes Hunt Seat, Western and Dressage classes with three class options for each discipline.
Adult rider members will not be limited to the number of competitions they may participate in and unlike youth riders, points will not be earned and therefore no post-season competitions will be held after the regular season. Results of Adult Classes will be collected and posted on this webpage throughout the regular season during this initial Pilot year.
The Adult Pilot Program is optional for any returning IEA team.
The IEA 2022-2023 regular competition season runs August 2022 through May 2023, depending upon discipline. Adult rider applications are available on the IEA website on the Membership Page.
