Tuesday, October 24, 2023 (Columbus, Ohio) – The Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) is proud to announce the awarding of a generous grant in support of their Benevolent Fund from the Lilah Hilliard Fisher Foundation, a philanthropic organization dedicated to making strategic investments in agriculture, culture, health, and education.
The IEA Benevolent Fund, an essential program within the Interscholastic Equestrian Association, shares the Lilah Hilliard Fisher Foundation’s commitment to promoting equity and opportunity. The Fund’s primary objective is to provide young riders in grades 4-12 with the financial assistance they need to access equestrian sports, including riding lessons and participation in IEA competitions.
Equestrian sports have long been cherished for their blend of athleticism, discipline, and camaraderie. However, the cost associated with riding lessons and competitions can be a significant barrier for many young enthusiasts. Through the Financial Assistance Program supported by this grant, the Benevolent Fund aims to break down those barriers, ensuring that aspiring equestrians from all backgrounds can pursue their passion and thrive in the IEA.
The Lilah Hilliard Fisher Foundation’s generous grant will enable the Benevolent Fund to expand its reach and impact, offering more young riders the opportunity to develop essential life skills, build character, and experience the joys of working with and learning from horses.
“We are deeply honored to receive this grant from the Lilah Hilliard Fisher Foundation,” stated Roxane Durant, IEA Co-Founder and Executive Director. “This support will help us further our mission of promoting inclusion and equal opportunity within the equestrian community. We believe that every young rider, regardless of their financial circumstances, should have the chance to experience the transformative power of equestrian sport.”
This new partnership is taking a significant step towards building a more equitable future for the equestrian community.
