A note from Tara...
As we near the end of the 2015-2016 Regular Season, I would like to commend the coaches, riders, families, officials and horses for a job well done! With the holidays drawing to an end and the start of Post Season Finals on our minds, it's important to reflect on the successes of the past year. By February, we will have navigated nearly 90 horse shows, given thousands of 'leg-ups' and strained countless muscles from dragging the mounting block all over tarnation. Presumably, we can count the hundreds of lessons taught, many at home and many in the show ring. Our students have had the privilege to ride many horses and are sure to have collected multiple ribbons and memories along the way. Our tireless Region Presidents have made it possible for each Region to run like a well-oiled machine and for that, I am truly grateful. Our officials who give our students critique and perspective, have blessed show managers with their presence. The list goes on, but for those that make it possible for Zone 1 to be as wonderful as it is, your Zone Admin is forever humbled and grateful.
For 2016, our committees are well into the planning of more and exciting educational opportunities for our members. We encourage you to continue to take part in these events as they are the trademark to the growth and knowledge that makes us a stand-out region of the country.
As always, please feel free to reach out to me with any ideas for the new year.
I wish everyone a happy, safe, healthy and prosperous New Year!
Good luck to all competitors, teams and coaches at the 2016 Regionals Semi Finals, Zone Finals and Nationals. Whether you are competing or not, consider the experience and the goals you have set for yourself, a success.
