AQHA's Young Horse Development Program Offers Free Weanlings, Scholarships & Opportunities for Aspiring Horsemen

The Young Horse Development Program is a unique opportunity for youth to receive a donated weanling free of charge, train the horse and track their progress, showcase skills and knowledge, and interact with an AQHA Professional Horseman. At the conclusion of the program, winners will share $5,000 in scholarships, plus other prizes and awards.

Youth will work with a quality weanling donated to the program, and will be mentored and tracked to help develop their horsemanship. The program emphasizes responsibility, goal-setting, horsemanship skills and knowledge. At the conclusion of the program, scholarship winners will be selected.
