Virginia Commonwealth Games at Liberty University

IEA / PREP Coaches – Save the Date!

We are very excited to be unveiling our brand new Liberty University Equestrian Center

...just in time for the 2016 Virginia Commonwealth Games at Liberty University, Lynchburg, Virginia.

The Commonwealth Games is Virginians competing in more than 60 sports over several weeks of competition; Equestrian Games is July 30 and 31.

IT'S A REGULAR HORSE SHOW, sanctioned for points by SWVHJA and VHSA Associate Program, with everything from 3'3" Hunters to ground poles, and all the Medal classes - Oak Ridge, SWVHJA, Sweet Briar, Randolph, and introducing a new Liberty 2' Mini Medal.

Western classes are an open show format, with halter, showmanship, western pleasure and horsemanship, and trail, all broken down by age groups.

You don't have to be on a team, but…

Put together a 3-man team and join the fun! Three team divisions: collegiate, youth, and open! To be eligible for the Commonwealth Games, you must be a Virginia resident for 30 days, or an out-of-state member of a Virginia riding club, or be from a state that doesn't have their own State Games, or attend a Virginia college, or be a military family. Classes are open to any age!

Professionals may ride in any suitable classes like in a regular horse show, but you must be an amateur to ride on a team.

We hope to see you bring a YOUTH team or an open team for the event! You can enter as many teams as you want, but nobody can ride on more than one team. "YOUTH" team is comprised of three riders who are under college age and not yet enrolled in college. An "Open" team can be a combination of any age as long as they are all amateurs.

I look forward to meeting all of you.

Full INFORMATION PACKET AND ENTRY PACKET will follow in a separate email - please look for it! There are substantial discounts for early pre entry and payment.
